Art Exhibit - Deb Karpman: Revival
Show runs October 7 - 29
Collage by the newest member of the art department Opening reception on Thursday, October 7, from 4:30-6:00 pm Gallery talk by the artist starting at 5:00 pm
Deb Karpman's forms are defiantly mobile, teetering between sturdiness and volatility, acceleration and collapse. Her work derives from found images – old, discarded textbooks, architectural diagrams, and field guides. Removed from their sources, these forms shed their logic, extricating them from their rational, stable realm. Karpman is an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Montevallo.
