Montevallo Art Show
Saturday, April 14
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Orr Park, Montevallo
This family-friendly event will feature more than sixty artists selling their art work in booths along Shoal Creek and the Orr Park walking trails. There will be live musical entertainment, face painting, and a variety of food vendors on hand throughout the day. New this year will be the first "QUICK DRAW-Paint Out" in which artists compete to produce a painting done on location within a two-hour time frame. The artwork will be judged on the best and most complete work done. The "wet" paintings will be displayed and judged, and will be available for sale after prizes are presented. Bring the entire family and spend the day in beautiful Orr Park, supporting and participating in the arts!

Jay Evans, trombone,
Faculty and Friends Recital
Mr. Evans will perform works by Tomasi, Haydn, and others, including “Here We Rest”, by Anthony Barfield, composed in memory of the victims of the 2011 Alabama Tornado outbreak. Mr. Evans will be joined on this recital by trombone students from UM, Oak Mountain HS, Thompson HS, Pelham HS, UAB, and UA, and well as trombone faculty from UAB and Samford, UA, and other special guests. The program will conclude with a rousing rendition of “76 Trombones” from The Music Man, by Meredith Wilson. A reception will follow.
